Our History
LACTISA, the Laikipia County Tertiary Institutions Students Association, was established in 2021 by a group of like-minded students united by a vision to advocate for Laikipia County students across various tertiary institutions nationwide. Recognizing the need for a unified platform, LACTISA has worked to address common challenges and foster a supportive community that transcends individual institutions.
Founded by visionary students aiming to unify and represent Laikipia tertiary students across the country.
Membership grew rapidly from 30 to over 300 students; initiated advocacy efforts for bursary allocations supporting financially disadvantaged students.
Expanded mentorship programs to 10 secondary schools, guiding students on academic excellence, career choices, and personal development.
Appointed campus representatives in 70% of Laikipia’s tertiary institutions and launched drug awareness campaigns across campuses.
Membership exceeded 1,000 students, solidifying LACTISA as a key force for student welfare, unity, and academic success county-wide.
